Dell XPS 13 Laptop Adds Next-Generation Intel Processors

Written by

ell is taking advantage of the upcoming IFA approaching to present its new XPS 13. Nothing very new this-said, these laptops enjoy only new processors, as some Inspiron.

The IFA only starts in early September but some manufacturers have already sent ads. This is the case of Dell, which today presents the new version of its flagship ultra-portable: the Dell XPS 13. Other models of the manufacturer, such as Inspiron, are also entitled to this update.

The new Dell XPS 13 (as well as its 2-in-1 version) does not change a formula already well established and the chassis does not change. In contrast, the Texan manufacturer has refreshed the configuration by including a 10th generation Intel Core Comet Lake processor in its PCs. Thus, the XPS will now be sold starting from $ 900 with an Intel Core i3-10110U (engraved in 14 nm). It will be possible to put processors up to the Intel Core i7-10710U. Disappointment on the other hand on one point: the XPS 13 use SDRAM LPDDR3 (dual-channel), while these new processors allow the use of the LPDDR4x. If the difference is imperceptible in conventional office automation, demanding users can see a defect that can be disadvantageous when using software very greedy computing.

Two other Dell PCs also benefit from these new processors: the Inspiron 14 7000 and its 2-in-1 version, available in 13, 14 and 17 inches. Again, the chassis remains the same, but here is the DDR4 RAM that can be used. These PCs may also have a GeForce MX 250. The release is scheduled for October at a starting price of $ 849. Dell will certainly give more information at IFA.
