Amazon removes data protection from its Tablets and after this move it is not difficult to figure out which side is in the diatribe that opposes Apple to the FBI, or vice versa.

With the update to Fire OS5, which is distributed these days also to products that are already in circulation, a message arrives for users when the device reignites that warns that the encryption of data has been removed.

Obviously, this has access to a strong online discussion on the real data security of Amazon’s equipment, to which the company has responded with a message sent to Engadget.

In the fall when we released Fire OS 5, we removed some of the features that we found. All Fire tablets’ communication with Amazon’s cloud meet our high standards for privacy and security including appropriate use of encryption

No security flaw, therefore, but only the elimination of services that were not used, or at least this is the version of the facts given to the public.

The new products that will come out on the market directly with Fire OS5 should be treated the same way.

It would be curious to know why Amazon comes off so sharply from the chorus of other hardware and software manufacturers, Jeff Bezos never does anything randomly.
